Whimsical & Romantic Wedding with an Outdoor Ceremony in California

What a dream! I am so happy to be sharing Setareh and Mikko’s stunning California wedding today who were hitched at Castle Green in Pasadena on the 4th January 2020. Firstly they had a touching first look before they were married in the most romantic outdoor ceremony with a magnolia tree backdrop, stunning flowers and draping fairy lights. The flowers really were out of this world beautiful in a whimsical colourful style I am sure you are going to love them!

After their vows they headed to their reception room which was so thoughtfully decorated. Think fun neon sign, fairy light canopy, blue tablecloths and vibrant florals. There was also a really cool drip cake and beautiful signs. I love how the pale blue hue ran through the décor and the outfits, with the bridesmaids wearing the same tone. Setareh and Mikko both looked incredible, hello dress with pockets and bow tie!

From The Wedding Planner

We are so excited to feature Setareh and Mikko’s whimsical and romantic wedding that took place at Castle Green in January. From our first consultation call with Setareh, we hit it off and couldn’t wait to bring the couple’s wedding vision to life. She was interested in our Wedding Management services with some additional help on the overall design.

Setareh and Mikko were such a fun couple to work with. Setareh is a teacher and is extremely kind and caring. Mikko has such a fun sense of humour and kept us laughing every time we met with them.

Getting Ready

The day started with Setareh getting her hair and makeup done at the nearby Hotel Constance in Pasadena. When she arrived at Castle Green, she put on her stunning dress with the help of her bridesmaids. On Setareh’s right hand, she wore her mom’s wedding ring, as well as a ring her grandmother gave her before she passed away. Mikko and his friends put on their finishing touches before the couple’s first look.

Setareh and Mikko had a beautiful first look on the Grand Staircase at Castle Green. Afterwards, they took pictures around the historic venue and on the rooftop.

Ceremony & Cocktail Hour

As guests started to arrive at Castle Green, we got the wedding party ready for the outdoor ceremony that took place in front of the magnolia tree on the lawn. Pavan Florals did an incredible job capturing the whimsical style in the ceremony flowers.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the sunroom and main salon. Little Lily’s tray-passed scrumptious hors d’oeuvres options including a Caribbean Shrimp Siu Mai with Pineapple Jalapeño Glaze. The wedding guests were able to enjoy the couple’s décor touches before finding their seats in the ballroom for the reception.

Reception

The reception décor was very important to Setareh. We worked together to create something romantic and well thought out to create a cohesive design. We used dusty-blue table linen that mirrored her bridesmaid dresses. To finish the table-top design, we added purple water goblets and ivory napkins to help bring out the floral design by Pavan Floral. Finally, we added a ‘Better Together’ neon sign above the sweetheart table that made for truly epic photos opportunities.

We kicked off the reception with Setareh and Mikko’s first dance as a married couple. It was followed by an impressive plated dinner by Little Lily’s Kitchen. The rest of the evening was filled with entertainment for the wedding guests with a great mix of American and Persian music courtesy of Dart DJs. We also had a photo booth from Triumph Photo Booth to capture all the wedding memories.
