Matthew and Sarah’s wedding happened to fall on Valentine’s day back in 2015. A cosy yet magical winter affair ensued with dusky pinks, lace and fairy lights galore.
Their vision was simple, for their loved ones to have a brilliant time with them, isn’t that lovely? They choose WWW Supplier Love members The Green Cornwall to host their celebrations and the barn looked so very beautiful.
There were pretty bouquets of pink roses and fluffly gypsophila, gents in herringbone suits, oodles of hessian and some statement LOVE lights too. I really adore that their sweet pup Peggie could celebrate with them too. And let’s just mention that Sarah looked stunning in her Mori Lee gown teamed with delicate hair band.
Thanks so much to Abi Riley and Keith Riley for sharing these wonderful images today.
THE PROPOSAL | Christmas eve 2012. Matt dressed our living room as a winter wonderland. Put on a Santa hat and popped the question when I got back from work.
THE VISION | For all our family and friends to enjoy the day just as much as us.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | It all ran smoothly once we found The Green. They helped us so much with help and ideas.
THE VENUE | The Green Cornwall.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Mori Lee from Encore Adore Bridal Studio made with Chantilly lace with fit and flared skirt. The bodice is embellished with beaded lace appliqués.
Shoes from Next.
Head dress made with pearls and silver leaves by Jon Richard from Debenhams.
FINDING THE DRESS | I found it really hard finding my dress as I am only 5 foot and a lot of them made me look even smaller. I didn’t go with what I originally thought I would. But once I found it I knew that it was the one.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | The men’s suits were Grey herringbone jacket and waistcoat with navy trousers and tie from Red Herring, Debenhams.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | My brother did a reading that he wrote himself.
Music, we had a little folk festival with Matt’s mum’s band Shamrock playing in the day and in the evening The Black Friday’s.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My best friends and sister! Their dresses were brought online (sorry I can’t find the make as they no longer make them) they were dusky pink v-necked chiffon dresses.
THE FLOWERS | Gypsophila and pink roses.
THE CAKE | A family member made our cake for us. Carrot cake, lemon cake, and a small bit of fruit cake.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Abi Riley.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Lace and lights with a winter feel. Hearts and dusky pinks added to the romance of the wedding falling on Valentine’s Day.
THE HONEYMOON | The day after we left The Green we went and stayed in a lovely cottage for 5 days near the Malvern Hills with our little dog Peggy. Then later in the year we went to Portugal for 10 days.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Sarah’s Brother doing the reading and Matt’s mum playing in the band Shamrock, having them be part of the wedding made it even more special. The fact that there wasn’t a moment that no one was on the dance floor! We partied the night away. Also that we were able to have our little Dog Peggy with us for the whole of the weekend.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Try not to stress about the little things as long as you get married at the end of the day that is what you are there to do and every thing will just fall in to place.
