It seems strange to be talking about Christmas in June BUT I know many of you are currently busy preparing for your winter weddings. So here is a little inspiration for you festive couples, I do love a romantic cosy affair.
Ruth and Andrew were married on the 21st December 2014 at The Belle Epoque in Cheshire. My favourite element of their day? Without a doubt the flowers. Rich toned blooms were used in abundance alongside pretty fairy and candlelight. There were classic Christmas touches, quirky paper goods and stylish attire galore.

THE PROPOSAL | 18th December 2013 on an evacuation flight out of Juba, South Sudan where we had both been working for the last three months.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | It all went well. We planned it in just under a year and the most stressful thing was the table plan!
THE VENUE | St Mary’s Church Nantwich followed by the Belle Epoque Knutsford.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress from Sarah’s Wedding Boutique in Nantwich – Designer Diane Harbridge.
FINDING THE DRESS | It was one of the first dresses I tried on and although I tried on more after I kept comparing it to this one…. so I knew it was the one for me!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | From Whitfield and Ward in Wilmslow. They do gorgeous suits and something a bit different from the normal wedding outfits. A bit more modern than the traditional attire.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Corinthians – Love is patient and “Tao Te Ching” by Lao Tzu.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Bride’s sister and Bride’s two best friends. Wore dresses from Sarah’s Wedding Boutique and faux fur shrugs sourced online.
THE FLOWERS | Absolutely the most amazing florist, so creative and really brought to life what we had envisaged. Juliet from Thoughtful Flowers grows all her own flowers from her home in Shrewbury so they are all very seasonal (she did have to source a few for our winter wedding) and she’s so creative.
THE CAKE | Not only did it look fantastic, but it tasted even better. Was just two tiers, bottom was chocolate with white chocolate butter cream and the top was lemon with lemon butter cream. Gemma from Finky’s Cakes and Bakes is amazing and can do pretty much anything! I found an idea on Pinterest and she really brought it to life.

THE HONEYMOON | Ski Holiday to Chamonix.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The groom’s uncle is a world class bagpiper from Northern Ireland so we were lucky enough to have him pipe us down the aisle after we had tied the knot and also in the wedding breakfast at the Belle Epoque.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy all the planning and all of the build up as much as you can because the day goes so quickly. Also, on the day, do what you want – it’s about you as a couple and nothing else matters. I danced the night away and had the most amazing time – yes I didn’t get to talk properly to all of our guests but that isn’t what the day is about.
